We believe in art as a tool for storytelling, healing, and community-building. By highlighting artists, sharing their journeys, and engaging with our community through public experiences, we continue to cultivate a space where expression and opportunity grow together.

Our Story

Monarca Art Space was founded out of necessity—and intention.

As a working artist, I needed a space not only to create freely, but to exhibit the volume of work I was producing without waiting for external opportunities. Rather than relying on limited and often competitive exhibition spaces, I chose to build one of my own—where creation and presentation could coexist.

What began as a personal solution quickly revealed a broader need. Many artists in Kansas City face similar barriers: limited access to affordable spaces and few opportunities to show their work consistently. Monarca Art Space was created to address that gap—not just for myself, but for a community of artists navigating the same challenges.

Established on September 2, 2022, the gallery has grown into a platform rooted in accessibility, visibility, and shared growth. It continues to serve as a space where artists can create, exhibit, and connect—without waiting for permission.
